Public Opinion on Autonomous Weapons Across Countries

New cross-national research, published in International Studies Quarterly, challenges the idea that the public firmly opposes autonomous weapons. While polls show discomfort, experimental evidence tells a more nuanced story. In a preregistered survey across the United States, Brazil, Germany, and China, Ondřej Rosendorf, Anja Dahlmann and other experts examine how risk and enemy identity shape public attitudes.
