Acquisition of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar. This is exclusively information which does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the contents of websites requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimize our Internet presence and the technology behind it.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred to your hard drive from a website server. Through this we automatically receive certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system about your computer and your connection to the Internet.
Cookies cannot be used to start programs or transfer viruses to a computer. With the information contained in cookies, we can make navigation easier for you and enable the correct display of our websites.
Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent.
Of course you can also view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are regularly set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time via the settings of your browser. Please use the help functions of your Internet browser to find out how to change these settings. Please note that individual functions of our website may not work if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

Registration on our website

When registering to use our personalised services, some personal data is collected, such as name, address, contact and communication data such as telephone number and e-mail address. If you are registered, you can access content and services that we only offer to registered users. Registered users also have the option of changing or deleting the data provided during registration at any time if necessary. Of course, we will also provide you with information about the personal data we have stored about you at any time. We will also be pleased to correct or delete this data at your request, provided that there are no legal obligations to retain it. To contact us in this context, please use the contact data given at the end of this data protection declaration.

SSL Encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Newsletter

When registering to receive our newsletter, the data you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose. Subscribers may also be informed by e-mail about circumstances relevant to the service or registration (for example, changes to the newsletter offer or technical circumstances).

We use rapidmail to send our newsletter. The provider is rapidmail GmbH, Wentzingerstraße, 21, 79106 Freiburg, Germany. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored on rapidmail’s servers in Germany. If you do not want any analysis by rapidmail, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter.

For the purpose of analysis, the e-mails sent with rapidmail contain a so-called tracking pixel, which connects to the servers of rapidmail when the e-mail is opened. In this way, it can be determined whether a newsletter message has been opened. Furthermore, with the help of rapidmail, we can determine whether and which links in the newsletter message are clicked. All links in the e-mail are so-called tracking links, with which your clicks can be counted. Depending on the font used to design the respective newsletter, a connection to external servers such as Google Fonts takes place.

For an effective registration, we need a valid e-mail address. In order to verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an e-mail address, we use the “double-opt-in” procedure. After registration, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register with other people’s e-mail addresses. When you register for the newsletter, your IP address and the date and time of registration are stored. The data will be used exclusively for the newsletter dispatch.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of your personal data and its use for the newsletter dispatch at any time. You will find a corresponding link in each newsletter. In addition, you can unsubscribe at any time directly on this website or inform us of your wish to do so via the contact option provided at the end of this privacy policy.
We use Mailchimp from The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308 USA (Mailchimp) to send our Hamburg Arms Control newsletter. This enables us to contact subscribers directly. In addition, we analyze your usage behavior in order to optimize our offer.

The declaration of revocation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out so far.
Your data will be processed for as long as you have given your consent. In addition, it will be deleted after termination of the contractual relationship between us and Mailchimp, unless further storage is required by law.
