Not long ago, Russia was considered militarily defeatable in Ukraine – today, politicians warn almost daily about a possible attack on other European states. The year 2029 is now seen as a possible date for military escalation. However, a realistic analysis of capabilities and intentions is needed in order to properly assess risks, writes Alexander Graef in a guest article for the magazine “Stern”.
