Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in the war in Ukraine, particularly through the use of autonomous weapons systems such as drones. In an interview with Zeit Online, Anja Dahlmann, Head of the Berlin Office of IFSH, and other experts discuss the impact of AI in war. Anja Dahlmann regards the war in Ukraine as an accelerator for technological progress, as the arms industry is using the situation to develop new drone technologies and network-centric warfare. However, the IFSH researcher warned that the use of a AI raises questions regarding international arms regulation.
