Anniversary: Five Years of IFSH Office Berlin

In September 2019, the IFSH opened its office in the capital. With the aim of contributing to the transfer of knowledge to society and, in particular, to politics, the opening of an office in Berlin was explicitly stipulated in the RNT project’s funding application in Phase I. Located near the government district, it serves as a space for dialogue, exchange and research on peace and security issues. The staff monitors parliamentary processes, provides expertise and exchanges ideas with policymakers and think tanks. Through this, the office enhances the institute’s visibility significantly.

The Berlin team has developed a series of well-established events, tailored specifically to government and members of parliament. They offer a confidential setting for in-depth discussions and policy recommendations. Additionally, the Berlin office regularly hosts events for experts and the public.

On September 23, the IFSH celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Berlin office with representatives from politics, society, and academia at a reception. Further information about the anniversary and the work of the office can be found here.
