Can Europe Withstand a War in the Long Run?

Europe is militarily dependent—and strategically directionless, writes Lukas Mengelkamp in the IPG Journal. The crucial question, he argues, is not how Europe could deter Russia without the US, but how it would even be able to fight. He also asks whether Europe could not only wage a prolonged war but also sustain it.
