France’s Nuclear Promise Leaves Germany Guessing

Too little, too late, comments Ulrich Kühn on President Macron’s speech about France’s new nuclear doctrine for Carnegie Europe’s “Taking the Pulse.” While Macron stated that France would use its nuclear weapons to protect European allies, he rejected the idea of extended nuclear deterrence. How would Germany have to react if France were to elect its first far-right president in 2027?
