The USA and Russia are talking about the future of Ukraine on their own and are excluding both the affected country itself, Ukraine, and Europe: What challenges arise from the new, surprising US-Russian alignment and how should we respond? Ulrich Kühn and other experts discussed these issues on 28 February at the invitation of the Black Sea Women in Nuclear Network (BSWN). IFSH Visiting Research Fellow Dr Valeriia Gergiieva moderated the event. All speakers expressed concerns about the current US strategy, the complexity of security guarantees for Ukraine and emphasised the importance of European cohesion and high defence investment.
The webinar occurred just before the Trump-Zelenskyy meeting at the White House.
