China’s Private Sector in International Affairs

Chinese private companies have become central to the US–China technological competition and increasingly important to China’s foreign relations, argues Sabine Mokry in her article for Global Studies Quarterly. She finds that representatives of private Chinese companies mostly present their firms as implementers of China’s foreign policy. Her study advances our understanding of state–business relations in the PRC.
